On the way back to SF after my 2nd fitting at David’s Bridal in Pinole, I called my mom up to let her know that I went ahead and got the bustle for my dress. I also mentioned that I didn’t have a veil for the veil ceremony and said maybe we could just make one out of tulle or something.
My dad is listening and points out the curtain in the kitchen – it’s lacy; it’s sheer. He says it’s like the veils you see in medieval weddings in the movies. I say okay, sounds good. He goes on to explain how the seamstress my mom is going to for alterations can sew the edges or whatever. My mom notices an oil stain or something on the curtain.
Dad: “What stain?”
Mom: “If you put it down I can show you!”
[Some more conversation that I don't understand.]
Dad: “Talk to the hand!”
Mom: “What?! I’m not talking to your hand!”
we are adding to reflect our relationship and personality. I wish I had more time – but it’s not likely that I would have used it any more wisely – so I’m just having faith in what we are doing and in the people with whom we are working. Grace was right – when we have vendors we trust, things will go a lot easier, and I’m looking forward to being less of a Bride Kong (ask
